"The design was created from inspiration of Australian beach houses the clients had spent their childhood growing up in and around. Large overhanging roofs give protection from the summer sun and also from the winter rain. A coastal material palette of sun soaked timber, wild dune grasses and pebble filled gabion walls frame the house from its grounds. The building promotes the ‘Cornish modern’ building vernacular while captivates the setting, the essence of its place and the joys of the lifestyle it brings."
